Knowing what makes a high quality log cabin is an important task. Log cabins are not cheap and so it is important that you are sure you want to go ahead and purchase. With this in mind this article aims to highlight what makes a good log cabin. It will also look at why you should buy a Greenacre Log Cabin.
There are many log cabins in the market with many different designs, looks and appeal. As the old saying goes it’s not what’s on the outside but the in. This is important as although some may look a class apart it is always important to check the buildings other attributes.
The first to consider is the cladding used to construct the log cabin with. The Greenacre range is constructed from Baltic pine which has matured in the cold and dark areas of Western Europe. This means it has taken longer for the pine to grow which creates a denser and stronger cladding in comparison to others which will add to the longevity, reliability and durability of the log cabins. The wood that we used are all certified which means they are sourced from a council forest where when wood is used more trees are grown so it is an environmentally friendly way of using wood as a resource. Greenacre Log Cabins believe it is important to promote sustainability which is why we use this method of obtaining the wood we use for the log cabins.
All of the Greenacre log cabins are built to provide a strong and sturdy building that will last the test of time. In order to achieve this we incorporate tongue and groove cladding for all areas of the log cabin including the roof and floor. Some buildings do have OSB (wood chippings) as a roof and flooring but Greenacre have used the same tongue and groove cladding as the rest of the log cabins. There are a range of claddings to choose from within our range including 28mm up to 44mm. In all of the log cabins there are 44mm thick roof joists which support the building adding to the strength and reliability that the Greenacre Log Cabins boast.
Greenacre log cabins are also fitted with cylinder locks and handles to enhance the log cabins security. We firmly believe this is important as if you are looking to design a games room with hi-tech items in there then you can safely secure them throughout the year.
Another benefit to Greenacre Log Cabins is the replacement windows as many other companies use styrene glazing whilst Greenacre use single pane glass and also have single pane glass replacements if there are any unfortunate breakages. The glass ensures that the building is kept warmer and it is also stronger so it will protect the building from the year round British weather.
