Health is a common concern in the present day and there is certainly an increasing fitness trend. Many people do find it hard to motivate themselves to attend a gym but purchasing a log cabin can be the answer to this. The most common and simple transformation to achieve this is to turn your log cabin into a home gym.

But how will a home gym make me exercise more? For many the gym is on the way home from work and is just a choice rather than an effort to get there initially. We have listed some of the reasons why a home gym is a great idea and one that will increase your motivation for exercise.

1 – Not intimidated by other gym users

Many people do not attend a gym as they are intimidated by the muscle heads that go on a daily basis. By having a home gym it is only you and users that you are comfortable with exercising in the same place. This is common with females as many gyms have started to offer female only sessions but you can have your female only session any day of the week.

It is not just women as men who have not got a six pack or bulging muscles sometimes feel embarrassed to go to the gym but with a home gym you will feel no embarrassment. Similar to this is if someone feels that they are weak and is not confident going to the gym lifting small weights when others are lifting 3 or 4 x the weight they are. Once again this feeling is lost in a home gym as you can exercise exactly how you want and not be judged by others.

2 – It’s on your doorstep so you have no excuse

We have all done it and it is extremely easy to drive past the gym on your way home from work then totter off to the pub on a week night. Many people start work earlier than their gym is open so a home gym allows you to choose the time that best suits you to exercise for example an early workout still allows you to have your evenings free and potentially a trip to the pub knowing that you have worked for an evening drink. You may even find that you unwind in your home gym as it is still home rather than a gym environment.

A home gym is also with you at every point when you are at home so there is more chance you may decide to do 10 or 15 minutes, the normal time it would take to travel to the gym.

3 – Peace and quiet

From time to time we all need a break from our homes and so the home gym in your back garden is a perfect place to gain five minutes peace and quiet.

4 – TV’s and music

Why not add a TV or your choice of music to your home gym? By doing this you may exercise for longer for example if a football match is on and you start training the chances are you will do 45 minutes training as you won’t want to miss the match and then you will stop at half time.

Many gym’s play the same music on repeat which can be demotivating rather than motivating it’s initial intended outcome. Having your own choice of music is a greater motivator and like the football example you may be more inclined to exercise to a whole album than leave the gym because you are fed up of listening to music that you do not like.

5 – Comfort

As mentioned throughout this article comfort is probably the main reason why you are likely to exercise more often as you do not feel intimidated by other gym users and you are in your surroundings with your likes such as TV channels and music.

Extras such as a suana, steam room or jacuzzi

You could also add a sauna, jacuzzi or steam room to your home gym within your log cabins and feel confident in using the facilities without fifteen other people trying to squeeze in. Sauna health benefits are well known along with jacuzzi’s and steam rooms other than just for relaxation. So not only is it a great extra for your log cabin but the perfect way to improve your health.
