FSC Certified Timber
Greenacre cares about the environment. When most of the materials used for our log cabins come from international resources, we have to think carefully about our supplies and the effect they have on the planet. The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an independent global organisation that promotes the responsible management stewardship of the worlds’ forests. This has a permanent positive influence on international forestry and provides comfort to consumers and foresters across the globe.
FSC accredited forests are required to meet the management criteria, namely the ecological, the economic and the social needs of present and future generations. Workers’ rights are respected, habitats are valued and no corruption of any kind is permitted. The FSC provides 10 principles and 56 criteria to be abided by, all of which aim to protect and care for the valuable timber resources that are used in abundance across the world. The FSC is a dedicated union that is funded mainly through charitable and governmental donors as well as business contributions. When a Greenacre log cabin is purchased, it is promised that the FSC and consequently the planet benefits. As a prominent name, the FSC logo instantly provides assurance to consumers that their purchases are proven to have no negative effect to the world, other peoples’ lives or the global economy.
Greenacre only sell wooden products that have been FSC certified. We believe in the long-term that our worlds’ forests can be utilised without detrimental consequences.
